These terms govern your use of Startr: the web app at app.startr.si, the Startr apps for iPhone and Android when they are available, and the website at startr.si (together, "Startr"). Startr is operated by RRDL LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 15531938 ("we", "us"). By using Startr you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Startr.
- Your first start is free. After that, Startr is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Startr is a self-help tool, not medical or psychological care. The steps are written by AI and can be wrong.
1. Who can use Startr
You must be at least 13, or the minimum age to consent to data processing in your country if that's higher. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
2. Your anonymous account
Startr has no sign-up. The first time you open it, an anonymous account is created for your device or browser. You're responsible for what happens on your device. If you clear your browser data, sign out or remove the app without linking Google or Apple or another device, you may lose your account. You can delete your account at any time, in Settings or at startr.si/delete-account. Keep your device code private: it can be used to link to and to delete your account.
3. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Startr for your own non-commercial use, under these terms.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Startr to break the law or to harm anyone; don't submit unlawful content or content that infringes someone else's rights; don't copy, reverse-engineer or resell Startr except where the law allows it; don't use bots or scrapers, or try to extract our prompts, models or data; don't interfere with or probe the security of Startr; and don't try to get around payment or rate limits.
5. Your content
What you type into Startr stays yours. You let us host, process and transmit it only to run Startr for you, including sending the text of your thing and steps to the AI provider described in the Privacy Policy. That permission ends when you delete it or your account.
6. AI-written steps, and what Startr is not
Startr uses an AI model to write and shrink your 2-minute steps. AI output can be inaccurate, unsuitable or odd. Use your judgement: skip a step that doesn't fit, and never do one that seems unsafe.
Startr is a self-help tool for getting started. It isn't medical, psychological or other professional advice, and it doesn't diagnose or treat anything. Putting things off can be linked to stress, low mood, anxiety or ADHD; if it's affecting your health or life, talk to a qualified professional. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
7. Subscriptions and payments
7.1 Free start
You can use Startr's first start for free. After that, starting each day needs a subscription. The plans and prices are shown before you pay and may vary by country and change over time.
7.2 On the web (Stripe)
- Plans are currently weekly ($4.99) and yearly ($39.99). A one-time yearly offer may be shown once. Taxes may be added where they apply.
- Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and you're charged at renewal, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in Startr: Settings → Manage subscription (Stripe's billing portal). Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: write to us within 14 days of a charge through the support form or at support@rrdl.io. Nothing here limits your rights under consumer law.
- If we change a price, we'll tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
7.3 In the iPhone and Android apps
In the apps, subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play and charged to your Apple ID or Google account. They renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel them in your store account settings. Refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. A subscription bought in one store doesn't carry over to the web or to the other store.
8. Third-party services
Startr relies on providers for hosting, sign-in, AI, payments and analytics, listed in the Privacy Policy. Their services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for services we don't control. If you use the iPhone app, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
9. Intellectual property
Startr, including its software, design, text, the Startr name and logo, belongs to RRDL LIMITED or its licensors. These terms don't give you any rights in it apart from the licence in section 3. You may use the steps Startr writes for you as you like.
10. Suspension and ending
You can stop using Startr and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect others. We may change or discontinue features, or Startr itself; if we discontinue Startr, we'll give reasonable notice and refund any unused part of a web subscription.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Startr is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We don't promise that Startr will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will get any particular thing done. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and if you're a consumer you keep your statutory rights.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity. Our total liability to you for any claim about Startr is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if that's more.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using Startr after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, stop using Startr and cancel your subscription.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there. Before a formal dispute, please write to us; most things can be sorted out quickly.
